You deserve to have the life that you want, even if the world has been telling you otherwise.
Sean Carvey, LMFT
You may not feel like it right now, but you truly do have the capacity to feel better. I would love to be the person there with you and to help on your path towards realizing that.
I strive to bring my own sense of authenticity to every session as I believe that therapy at its core is successful due to the relationship between clinician and client. As your therapist I will promise to be consistently present, challenge you gently but firmly when you need me to, and empathetically and truly care about what you have to say. I have thirteen years of experience in the mental health field addressing issues ranging from depression and anxiety to substance use to feelings around gender and sexuality. I work with individuals and families but also have a strong passion in working with couples and relationships.
I work with clients to identify goals that are personal, achievable, and realistic. It is your goals that matter most in therapy and I will work with you in setting and accomplishing those goals. I have a strong distaste for the word “fixed” when it comes to mental health because I don’t think there is anything about you that needs fixing. That being said, though, I would love to help you to pursue the person that you’ve dreamed about becoming. In the end you are the one doing the work but you don’t have to do it alone.
Finding a therapist that fits for you can be a hard and frustrating process. If you want or need any more information from me to see if we might be a good fit, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Beyond anything else when starting something new out it never hurts to try.
